I loved everything about it and would choose the exact same room again. Now that we’ve got that straight, let’s talk more about the Evrima yachting experience. Evrima, the first yacht of the collection launched in 2022, is a 149 cabin, 298 passenger ship. We recently returned from a 5-night Caribbean cruise with Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection. Children age six months and older are welcome aboard Evrima (they must be at least one year old if the itinerary has three or more consecutive days at sea) and all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 21.

This can be an easy way to earn Marriott Bonvoy Silver, Gold, or Platinum status so you can take advantage of the onboard benefits. If you decide to redeem points for a yacht sailing, you’ll need to do it in specified increments. To start, you can redeem 180,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for $1,000 in savings on the cruise fare. Then points can be redeemed in increments of 90,000 for a $500 savings.

The line says it focuses on the "casual freedom of a yachting vacation," so you don't need to worry about packing formal wear. Passengers on the first sailing report that some gentlemen are wearing sportcoats in the evening while others aren't. Women are donning flowing palazzo pants and pretty blouses as well as cocktail dresses and sundresses. The line purposely carved out space aboard each vessel for a Ritz-Kids club on Deck 8 aft.
Can I Earn & Redeem Marriott Rewards On Ritz-Carlton Cruises?
Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection's ship Evrima has now been sailing for almost six months since debuting in October 2022. Just before its 20th voyage -- a seven-night roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale -- Cruise Critic had the opportunity to visit the luxury yacht in Port Everglades. As cruise port, Tenerife is also ranked Spain's second busiest - after Barcelona, handling nearly 1 million cruise ship passengers annually. Tenerife Island is visited by around 5 million tourists annually, making it archipelago's most visited. The island is served by two airports - Tenerife South (aka Reina Sofia) and Tenerife North (aka Los Rodeos). To sail with Ritz-Carlton onboard the Evrima, rates will vary depending on the sailing destination.
But many of Evrima’s cool features and concepts -- and its superb service -- should certainly make other high-end lines sit up and take a good look. According to Prothero, some 50,000 employees across the Marriott group applied for 250 positions on Evrima. Accordingly, the company was able to pick the creme de la creme of its staff. Around half are from hotels and half from luxury cruise lines. Several senior officers on the hotel side of the ship have luxury hotel backgrounds and the sense of enthusiasm they exude is palpable.

Owner's Suites
The 2021-built/2022-inaugurated Ritz-Carlton's Evrima cruise ship (fka "Ritz-Carlton Azora"/official website) is the first of all three ultra-luxury expedition yachts owned by Marriott International Inc (shipowner). The superyacht is operated by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection (cruise brand and subsidiary of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company). Another lounge space called the Marina Terrace is closer to the waterline at the ship's rear-facing marina area. If you book on the Ritz-Carlton website directly, you may not get the best deal.

It’s hard to believe that on a relatively small ship there are many things I missed or didn’t have time to see … bottom line, it never gets boring. The suite has a long entry hall, small dining and sitting areas, a nice bedroom with good storage and fairly spacious outdoor terrace … we couldn’t ask for anything more. Oh, the bathroom was a nice surprise too … more about that in a bit. Andrew Kim is the yacht’s General Manager, and there are many concierges always available by phone or in the Living Room gathering space to assist with anything you need. The main gathering spaces are The Living Room and The Observation Lounge.

San Juan is a wonderful city with a rich history and many places to explore. We would love to have extended our vacation by a few days, but it wasn’t in the cards. One of two hotel-day pass options offered by The Shore Collection.
It’s a perfect area for lounging or socializing with fellow cruisers. The evenings bring live entertainment and cocktails, extending The Observation Lounge into a late-night lounge. The entertainment you’ll find on board is designed to enhance each guest’s journey through cultural experiences, including expert-led discussions and partnerships with local artisans and musicians. There are also in-house classical and jazz musicians that move throughout different venues.
A selection of water toys (sea kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling equipment) is provided complimentary to all passengers. The marina is connected to the indoors, forming an indoor-outdoor solarium (sundeck) looking more like a cozy lounge than the usual sundeck. Assuming Evrima does begin sailing on Saturday, it will be debuting nearly 33 months behind schedule — a backup of a magnitude rarely seen in the cruise shipbuilding space.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, so there are opportunities to either earn or use Marriott points for one of these luxury cruises. Ritz Kids is a dedicated space for young travelers offering both fun and educational programming. The Observation Lounge provides spectacular views in an indoor/outdoor environment.
The dozen or so tables are laid out in two sets, flanked by chairs and a wall-length half booth that means your fellow diners are always close. In that sense, S.E.A. reminds us less of a typical sumptuous luxury cruise restaurant and more of a modern venue on land, not unlike what you would find at a luxury hotel. And to be fair, the emphasis is clearly on the food, with the restaurant's setting taking a back seat. A guest staying on a (non all-inclusive) luxury hotel expects all these additional costs; a traveler sailing on a luxury cruise doesn't.
These sailings offer guests an immersive experience through specially curated shore excursions as well as an opportunity to visit smaller ports. With the number of crew totalling 246, this puts the ratio of crew to guests at 1 to 1.2. The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection executive attributes this distinction to having a stronger loyalist passenger base and also by being part of Marriott. If the appearance of Evrima could be defined as superlative yacht or a miniature cruise ship (or both), the essence of the vessel is faithful to its Ritz-Carlton roots. The minute we set foot on the vessel it became clear that the ship feels like a luxury hotel on the water.
The ship has been plagued by construction problems for years, resulting in a succession of eight delays that have pushed back its arrival by nearly three years. The company initially used a shipyard to build Evrima that had little experience constructing upscale vessels. Evrima's first sailing on Saturday will be a seven-night trip from Barcelona to Nice, France, that will include stops in Spain's Balearic islands of Alcudia and Palma de Mallorca, plus an overnight in St. Tropez, France.
